Iris gone, Peter looking wobbly

Latest news is that Iris Robinson’s membership of the DUP has been terminated and she is immediately vacating her elected positions. Party leaders will meet on Monday to select a successor for her Assembly seat; her Westminster seat will remain vacant until the general election.

Meanwhile, it’s not looking great for Peter. Party leaders who were willing to back him up over his marital difficulties are keeping a very low profile since the money aspect has become more prominent. The one positive for Peter is that Iris’ dodgy dealings – and we know she wasn’t exactly stable – took place after he, Peter, had stood down from Castlereagh council.
