Have you heard the one about the Jew who did well for himself in Iran?

Oh, I just love this:

A photograph of the Iranian president holding up his identity card during elections in March 2008 clearly shows his family has Jewish roots.

A close-up of the document reveals he was previously known as Sabourjian – a Jewish name meaning cloth weaver.

The short note scrawled on the card suggests his family changed its name to Ahmadinejad when they converted to embrace Islam after his birth.

The Sabourjians traditionally hail from Aradan, Mr Ahmadinejad’s birthplace, and the name derives from “weaver of the Sabour”, the name for the Jewish Tallit shawl in Persia. The name is even on the list of reserved names for Iranian Jews compiled by Iran’s Ministry of the Interior.

That’s another one up for Jewish enterprise, I think, and probably explains a few things about the irrepressible bubeleh Ahmadinejad. It will also confirm the feeling of the more conspiracist element in Tehran that those Jews get in everywhere. And you realise, of course, that under the Law of Return, Dinner Jacket would be entitled to claim Israeli citizenship and get himself a nice little tract house in a West Bank settlement. They let Avigdor Lieberman in, so they couldn’t very well keep Mahmoud out…

I knew he worked for Mossad. It all makes sense now…

The Israelis have evidence that the Iranians possess nukes because they provided them.

Alternatively, it could be a devious psy-op to discredit him in the eyes of his supporters.

Hitler had alleged Jewish ancestors (his grandmother knocked up while in service as a maid to a wealthy Jewish family).

What next after this and Obama the secret Muslim? Netanyahu the Lithuanian Catholic?

I eagerly await the AWL recanting their outrageous antisemitic attacks on Ahmadinejad.

Btw: condolences over Lisbon. I look forward to your forthcoming diatribe about how this a fundamental defeat for democracy, a major set-back for the working class, a world-historic gain for imperialism, etc, etc. Ha ha ha.

McGazz: I *was* being “ironic” about Jews and Dinner Jacket. But *not* about Lisbon and the EU.

I’ve looked at the picture above and all I see is a bunch of blue circles and scribble marks! Yet I always thought ahmadinejad was a likable person so I never understood why so many people dislike him?

    Ahmadinejad – I’m a spin a Jihad

In the name of diversity and tolerance, I’ve decided to embrace both jews and nazi’s alike! Let them hate each other, I choose not to hate either…

People always like to say ahmadinejad wants to wipe israel off the map but I looked it up once and he has never expressed any such desire! What he say is the zionist regime of israel will be wiped from the page of time.

Seems he has a problem with zionist, (who are mostly evangelical christians) but not a problems with all jews. This family heritage could explain his strong antizionist views but friendly jewish demeanor.
